NEC is the latest newcomer for the ultra light and ultra slim notebook market. Their latest VersaPro UltraLite Type VS certainly looks rather squarish and odd. And according to NEC’s spokesperson, they claimed that the VersaPro UltraLite Type VS is lighter than the MacBook Air but thicker in size.
The thickness for the VersaPro UltraLite Type VS range from 15.8mm to 29.9mm – compared to the 19.4mm MacBook Air and 16.51mm Adamo. Personally, I still think that the 725g weight is still very light for the notebook.
And as for the hardware configurations, the VersaPro UltraLite Type VS runs on the following:
Intel's 1.86GHz Atom Z540 10.6-inch display with 1208 x 768 resolution 1GB of RAM 64GB SSD 3 USB slots Ethernet port SD card reader
The asking price? It’s available in Japan for 99,750 (a little over $1,000). You can expect to see the VersaPro UltraLite Type VS as soon as July.
