NEC is the latest newcomer for the ultra light and ultra slim notebook market. Their latest VersaPro UltraLite Type VS certainly looks rather squarish and odd. And according to NEC’s spokesperson, they claimed that the VersaPro UltraLite Type VS is lighter than the MacBook Air but thicker in size.
The thickness for the VersaPro UltraLite Type VS range from 15.8mm to 29.9mm – compared to the 19.4mm MacBook Air and 16.51mm Adamo. Personally, I still think that the 725g weight is still very light for the notebook.
And as for the hardware configurations, the VersaPro UltraLite Type VS runs on the following:
Intel's 1.86GHz Atom Z540 10.6-inch display with 1208 x 768 resolution 1GB of RAM 64GB SSD 3 USB slots Ethernet port SD card reader
The asking price? It’s available in Japan for 99,750 (a little over $1,000). You can expect to see the VersaPro UltraLite Type VS as soon as July.

Intel has made plans to roll out their all new Core i5 into the market this coming July to September. According to their spokesperson, Intel is ready to push out their Lynnfield procs and 5-series chipsets.
Intel made the decision to delay their implementation of the new chips, due to the fact that the economy wasn’t performing on par for the past couple of months. This ensures that most of Intel’s distributors have time to clear their inventory for the latest chips.
On the other hand, AMD has not made any plans to ship out their version of processors to match the Core i5 processors from Intel.
The Core i5 processors would be selling with the following price, 2.93GHz ($562), 2.8GHz ($284) and 2.66GHz ($196).

Microsoft has in fact released their latest Service Pack 2 for the Vista. Not sure what this particular service pack is aimed at, I’m guessing that the SP2 would address security problems on the Vista. On the other hand, I don’t think that there would be anymore performance boost for the Vista under the SP2. Nevertheless, you can now head up to Microsoft’s web portal and start downloading the standalone installers to install the service pack. Here’s the link for the Vista 32-bit version SP2 – click on this link. |

Would you pay $765.78 for miniaturization?

Microsoft certainly makes expensive mouse and they have in fact renewed their domination over the BlueTrack mouse technology by unveiling two new wireless mouse for the market.
What makes these mouse rather unique is the fact that it comes with a nano transceiver, which only measures 0.8 centimeters out from the USB port. The size makes it rather hard to distinguish the functionality of the transceiver.

Nevertheless, the DDRdrive X1 is comprised of 4GB DRAM and 4GB NAND which works in parallel whereby one of these memory modules is responsible to back up your volatile memory in static disk.
Personally, I think that these memory modules are most suitable for the server environment. On the other hand, it will cost you approximately $1,495 to purchase one of these. I don’t think that it’s really practical to get one of these modules for home usage as I think that it will be plain crazy.

I remember how Sony used to shrink their PS1 from a huge chunky console to a rather miniature device. And the same goes to PS2 and there’s been news that Sony would also be shrinking the PS3 into a slimmer and smaller console in the near future.
Not sure how long Sony will take to revise the PS3 design, but I’m thinking that since Sony is shrinking their PS3, you can expect a much cheaper console with lesser hardware goodies inside.
On the other hand, I doubt that the lesser goodies will affect the overall performances as most likely, Sony will strip all none-essential parts.
Will this be the future PS3?

When ASUS disclosed their plans for the Eee PC 1008HA Seashell series, I can say that it is simply an aesthetic looking netbook. It’s so slim that it matches MSI’s X-Slim, Apple MacBook Air or even Dell’s Adamo series.

For those who are wondering whether to purchase the HP Mini 1000 with an extended 6-cell battery might want to think deeper on their decisions. First and foremost, by opting for the 6-cell battery for your Mini 1000, you’ll have 6 hours of battery juice on a single charge. This means that you can use your Mini for 6 hours straight, without any interruptions.
On the other hand, purchasing the 6-cell battery would also mean that your Mini 1000 will have an unsightly bulge at the bottom, which is plain ugly.
Personally, I believe that you should make a decision based on your needs – for example, if you are constantly on the move, I’m sure the 6-cell is your best choice. While for those who are using the Minis mainly at home or office, you can forget about getting the 6-cell battery as most likely, you’ll have an electrical point to charge your Mini.
