While the rest of the world cries in silent over the economic onslaught, Google appears to the champion of them all by reporting a neat 18 percent increase in revenue for Q4 2008. The 18 percent increase in revenue can be translated to an increase of $5.70 billion in Q4 2008 when compared to $4.83 billion from Q4 2007. My personal thoughts: Well Google certainly is the most eligible to join the ‘2008 Most Successful Internet Business Club’ together with Apple as both of these companies recorded a neat growth in revenue despite the economic slowdown. However, analysts cautioned that Google might not enjoy favorable growth this year (2009) as the budget for online advertising might slow down considerably. Personally, I will still place my bet on Google as I believe that they can champion out revolutionizing technology into the market in the near future. And that even with the entire stock market sliding in a downwards trend, Google shares closed Friday trading up $18.20, or 5.9%, to $324.70. I’m betting bright future for Google – anyone with me? |
Sex certainly sells and despite gloomy economic forecasts, Pfizer is in the last minute of closing a historic deal on acquiring Wyeth for a record $68 billion dollars. My personal thoughts: Well if conventional business doesn’t make it in the market, why don’t you turn your attention to the ‘sex market’? The entire business community is certainly feeling the pinch when it comes to slower consumer spending in the market and that majority of these businesses are strapping the ‘belt around their waist’ for the next couple of months. Of course, despite gloomy market forecasts, Pfizer has made a bold move in acquiring Wyeth which would cost them approximately $68 billion dollars. However, acquiring a mega billion dollars company isn’t something new for Pfizer. Apparently, Pfizer bought Warner-Lambert Co. for $93.4 billion in 2000 – which was a history deal in this century. So you might be wondering how much profit would Pfizer be enjoying after the acquisition? According to sources, the acquisition would boost Pfizer’s revenue by half while making them an undeniable world leader in the biotech drug market. Got some spare cash to invest in stocks? Pfizer might just be a viable choice for the next couple of months though. |
According to the Democrats, the stimulus plans won’t work miracles to the economy and that the general public should take note that the economy is heading downhill to its worst before recovering in the near future. Of course, pumping several billions of dollars into the market would somewhat help save part of the economy, but not all. Nevertheless, for people who are currently running their own business, don’t expect that the stimulus plans would work miracles and that the economy would turnaround almost instantaneously – you should instead champion cost saving plans and start reserving your money! And as for those who actually made it into the millionaire club – you’re pretty safe there, but it’s always good to stay thrifty and put your money into investments which are stable. My gut instinct says that the stock market wouldn’t go uphill for another 6 months and that if you have a little cash to spare at the end of the 6 months, it’s pretty wise to invest part of it into blue chips. The oil commodity is also pretty viable, I can say – it’s just not viable to invest into as of now. |
Apparently, Intel is ready to monopolize the Mobile Internet Devices or rather MIDs market. We’ve seen a healthy growth of such devices on this blog as I have blogged a couple of MIDs in the past and I can say that these devices are pretty cool and practical, provided that if the price is right. Nevertheless, we’ve also seen Intel working their miracle despite the global economic meltdown whereby their Atom processors continue to be one of the highest demanded processors in the market. Mind you, mid last year Intel actually sounded an alarm whereby their Atom processors were low in stock, worldwide. According to some reliable internet sources, Intel is actually partnering with other device makers on developing the next breakthrough in micro processing technology. I’m pretty sure the fight is on, and their focus is on smaller and faster microprocessors similar to the Atom. Well I’m pretty sure that we’ll get to enjoy more powerful mobile devices in the near future and that we could actually hook up our mobile phones and use it as a normal basic PC rather than relying on a netbook or laptops. I’m certainly anxious to see what Intel has in store! |

When the day are coming, Universal Display Corporation expect there will be one of those gadgets contains a wearable, flexible, 4-inch prototype screen. From this, all the CES attendees will be have opportunity to test out and maybe even purchase it. But sadly, it just a dream or even ideas that haven come true. But I’m sure that consumer will like to get this kind of cool stuff first. Well, right now we only can wait for this dream come true in future. |

Logitech is an earth head in individual peripherals, motivating modernization in PC routing, Internet infrastructure, digital music, home-entertainment power, gaming and wireless devices. Logitech International announced that it has quiet its Fiscal Year 2009 development targets for sales and operating income due to the deepening universal decline. Just begin of year 2009, Logitech already bringing the warm up. Mean, the company will be undergoing a serious restructuring as it moves further. According to president and chief executive officer Gerald P. Quindlen: ""“During the December quarter, the retail environment deteriorated significantly,” “We experienced varying degrees of weakness across all geographies and channels as our customers reduced inventory levels inthe face of weaker consumer demand. Moreover, we expect the economic environment to worsen in the coming months and we are therefore taking significant actions to align our cost structure with what is likely to be an extended downturn.” Sadly, those "measures" involve sending home a number of 15% of its salaried workforce international, and it's expecting the investments from all of this to prove in Q1 of economic year 2010. |
