Sony Ericsson W902
Tuesday, 01 July 2008
seA single photo of Sony Ericsson's "Patti" candybar handset was apparently making the rounds prior this week, but an obliging member of the SE4M forums has now fortunately provided a whole batch of delicious looking photos of this little device, as well as word that the phone has now been formally dubbed the W902.

Apart from the 5-megapixel auto-focusing camera with an LED flash, however, this one looks like a pretty standard SE mobile phone, with it boasting all the usual Walkman-related functions and tried and true design you've come to imagine. No word on a discharge just yet, but you can at least get a high-quality look via Googler.

Moore's Law Alive and Kicking
Wednesday, 25 June 2008
thdtWe're pretty clear that we'll be hearing this same story each and every year, whereby the story goes on every year for the rest of eternity, but hey, it's not like we're kvetching over that or anything like that. Once again, we're hearing that brilliant scientists have developed a breakthrough that would make Mr. Moore look remarkably smart, as a new approach to chip making could eliminate features in silicon chips "that are many times smaller than what the wavelength of the light used to make them."

As reported, the new method "produces grids of parallel lines just 25-nanometers width using light with a wavelength of 351-nanometers," even though the grids aren't functional circuits just yet. If you like to hear more in technobabble on the matter, Google this "photolithographic" and "nanotechnology."

LG Chocolate 3
Friday, 13 June 2008
lg chocolate 3Wait, did you know that Verizon actually decided it would be a fantastic idea to make official a cellphone today? Yes! You are right! -- the Chocolate 3 was announced with a Sunday purchasable date today, but for those hoping to see the new wrapper unfold a few days earlier, today's your lucky day.

The watchdogs over at Laptop were able to get their hands on the new flip and test it out ever-so-briefly, and while first impressions seemed rather good, we reckon it's the photos you're really going after. Dig into the read link for the full gallery.

iPhone 3G
Wednesday, 04 June 2008
iphoneWord is on the street that the new iPhone 3G is really the hottest product to hit the shelves, reveling in the afterglow of yesterday's purchase, repeatedly opening Maps on your shinny new iPhone 3G and watching in exaggerated little gadget as your location is determined at frightening speed and dead accuracy.

Others might be lining up in a line snaking hundreds of bodies long into your nearby local Apple Store, reading this post from the comfort of your 3G mobile phone and realizing that these are some of the last periods you'll be using a physical keypad. Still others are feeling that the entire fuss is artificially hyped up -- but whatever your stance on the new 3G phone, it's pretty hard to ignore the publicity that's floating around in the aftermath of day zero.

60GB Xbox
Sunday, 25 May 2008
boxWord around the corner was that the $299 price slash we've been listening to wasn't about carving out a new pricepoint but instead creating room for a new 60GB Xbox 360 to claim its throne. Turns out the Mr. Word on the Street nailed this one pretty darn right, with Microsoft finally fessing up to the price decrement, and announcing a new fancy 60GB Xbox 360 to be priced at that $349 pricepoint, which will be available in "early August."

You can purchase the 20GB "while supplies last," but the $279 Arcade and $449 Elite aren't negotiating the price wise. Oh, and can we just say that this couldn't be available at any better a time? We just had to delete August Rush to make additional space for National Treasure 2, which we'll probably have to forget about tomorrow for Fool's Gold. Such is life when you've only had 20GB of disk space to work with.
